Frequently Asked Questions
I’m new to yoga, how do I start?
Before beginning, we’d recommend reading the How to Join section! As for your first class we recommend you sign up for our Yoga Back, Yang/Yin, and any other practices that are suitable for Beginners/All Levels. This will help build your foundation through Breathing (Pranayama), Posture (Asana), and Meditation (Dyhana) practices. We also offer a variety of Light Classes to suit your yoga/fitness level.
What if I have an injury / physical condition?
We recommend asking your doctor or medical professional if it is safe before beginning practicing yoga or our fitness based classes. Let the teacher know of any condition or injury, and we will explain modifications for poses that would be more accessible for you. During a class, follow your instincts! If a pose doesn’t feel right, don’t force it.
How do I choose a style of yoga to practice?
In time you will identify with / relate to a preferred style of yoga. The best way to discover what works best for you is to try out different classes and then decide! Your body and mind are constantly evolving. It is perfectly normal and beneficial to your practice to vary your style!
Look for the Light category in our classes for our restorative practices suited for all levels. Click here to read more about our types of classes. Our Light classes are encouraged if you suffer from pain or are extremely active, to improve recovery time and overall health/wellbeing.
What are the most athletic + active classes?
Look for the Hard-Core category in our classes for a dynamic fusion of fitness and yoga. Click here to read more about our types of classes. Our Hard-Core classes have varying levels of intensities, and modifications can be made so they’re suitable for Advanced / All Levels!
For hygienic reasons, we recommend you bring your own personal mat. We do have some natural slip-resistant rubber mats available to borrow, with no harmful chemicals or PVC. They are also biodegradable so they don’t pollute the earth! If you need guidance on what mat to purchase, check out Love My Mat, or Connect with us, and we’d be happy to help!

Guidelines for New Members
Download the FitWithin Agreement Waiver. Please print out this form and have it filled out / signed before your first class.
- Arrive 15 minutes early to your Live Class, allowing for time to admit those registered into the Zoom Meeting.
- Wear comfortable, lightweight clothing from natural fibres (if possible). Your body should be able to breathe through the clothing. Yoga is practiced bare foot to stimulate the vital nerve endings in your feet. Wearing socks can cause injuries.
- We recommend you have a proper yoga mat.
- Yoga is best practiced on an empty stomach. We recommend you not eat 2-3 hours before a class. If you must eat, have a small snack such yogurt or an apple, etc.
- Students are responsible for their own practice. Be conscious of over-stretching and injuries. To avoid injuries or health problems, check with your doctor before starting yoga practice. Inform the teacher prior to class about any existing health conditions such as: back, neck or joint injuries, recent surgeries, high blood pressure, or pregnancy.
- Drink lots of water after class. We also recommend bathing in (Epsom) sea salt or showering after to relax the muscles. After care is important for muscle recovery.
